September is National Library Card Sign Up Month!

This is a month to celebrate everything libraries have to offer and encourage those who haven't yet signed up for a library card to become members. 

National Library Card Sign Up Month began in 1987 as a response to then Secretary of Education William Bennett, who said:

We couldn't agree more! Every child — and every teen and every adult — should have and use a library card! That's why we're offering both current cardholders and new members a chance to win items from our YPL Merch Store this month!

Here's How You Could Win

Sign up for a membership* this month, and you will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a t-shirt, bag or mug from our merch store!

3 winners will be drawn on October 1. You do not need to be present at the drawing to win.

*If you sign up online, your entry into the raffle will be complete once you pick up your card at the library.

Current patrons, new patrons, and even non-cardholders, you can explore the library for your chance to win!

Complete a BINGO* and return the sheet by September 30 to get a small prize and be entered to win a raffle for YPL merch!
