September is National Library Card Sign Up Month!

This is a month to celebrate everything libraries have to offer and encourage those who haven't yet signed up for a library card to become members.

National Library Card Sign Up Month began in 1987 as a response to then Secretary of Education William Bennett, who said:

“Let’s have a campaign … Every child should obtain a library card and use it.”

We couldn't agree more! Every child — and every teen and every adult — should have and use a library card! That's why we're offering both current cardholders and new members a chance to win items from our YPL Merch Store this month!

Here's How You Could Win

Don't have a library card? Sign up for a membership this month, and you will automatically be entered into a raffle to win an item of your choosing from our merch store!

Already a member? Refer a new patron to be entered to win! Make sure whoever you refer mentions your name when they're signing up.

Two winners will be drawn on October 1. You do not need to be present at the drawing to win.
