Mediterranean Lifestyle

The Mediterranean-style eating pattern has proven to be particularly effective in reducing the risk and impact of chronic disease such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers. The diet emphasizes fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins like fish and poultry. Olive oil is a mainstay, and nuts, seeds, and fish provide additional healthy fats and omega-3s.
This free class, taught by Purdue Extension educator Amanda Bullion will cover topics such as:
- Understanding the Mediterranean-style eating pattern: its benefits and how to adopt it
- Making healthy food choices and increasing the frequency of nutritious meals
