Never Judge a Book By Its Cover
It is Blind Date with a Book Month at your Yorktown Public Library!

When you walk into your Yorktown Public Library, you will encounter a distinct cart of books. These unassuming publications resting on the cart are ready to woo you.
Plainly wrapped—covered in plain brown paper. Only a whisp of information about the book is offered via a small note that features either the first sentence of the book or a snippet of a book review. Just a peek to pique your interest.
Will you read the hint supplied on the book’s wrapper or will you be spontaneous and choose a book at random?

Will it be love at first paragraph or will you need more page turning to see if you truly connect with the storyline?
Will this be an author you stay true to or will you play the field?
If you don’t have instant chemistry with your book choice, you can be adventurous and take another chance, because Blind Date with a Book is all month long!

With this blind date, you need not fret over who is paying for dinner, struggle making awkward conversation, or contrive a plan to have your bestie call you ten minutes into the date and stage an emergency so you can make a graceful exit if necessary!
Visit your Yorktown Public Library, check out a book you are smitten with and away you go to unwrap your clandestine reading adventure.
P.S. We also have a fun February reading program for kids! Check out Fishing for a Good Book for 3rd-5th grade reading levels.
