You do not need a library card to register and participate in Summer Reading!

How It Works
  • Cubs earn a prize for every hour that they read or are read to.
  •  

  • There is a limit of 3 prizes per week.
  •  

  • For every 10 hours that your child reads or is read to, they will earn one ticket into the drawing for the Super Reader Prize.

    June 6: CR Ryan Magic Show

     
    This is the first event of the 2018 Summer Reading Program!
     
    ๐Ÿ”ฎ CR Ryan is back for another awesome magic show! Together with his sons, CR Ryan puts on a great show of illusion and entertainment. You won’t want to miss it!
     
    ๐Ÿ’บ There is limited seating available. Please bring blankets or chairs for a more comfortable experience!
     
    ๐ŸŒฉ๏ธ In the event of bad weather, the show will be moved to the P.V.E. Gym.

    June 13: Freddy Fossil's Dino Show

     
    Summer Reading Event!
     
    ๐Ÿฆ– Dinosaurs are the original ROCK STARS! Fun and laughs happen fast in this one-of-a-kind hilarious show. With realistic, life-size dinosaur puppets and lots of audience participation, Freddy Fossil helps kids discover why โ€œIt stinks to be extinct.โ€ Itโ€™s โ€œpreโ€“hystericalโ€ family fun!

    June 20: Indiana WILD Live Animal Show

     
    Summer Reading Event!
     
    ๐ŸŠ You’ll get to see live animals up close! Learn all about these exotic animals, as well as conservation.

    It’s the grand finale of the 2018 Summer Reading program!
     
    ๐ŸŒŠ Celebrate all your reading accomplishments with Magic Don’s Water Show! Dress to get wet!
     
    ๐ŸŒฉ๏ธ In the event of bad weather, this program will be moved to the P.V.E. Gym as a magic show without water.

    Storytime @ YPL (1)

     
     


    Tiny Tots

     
    This story time is on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and is designed for children ages birth-36 months and their caregiver.
     
    Enjoy stories, songs, fingerplays, and bubbles! Tiny Tots will last 20-30 minutes. Feel free to stay and play afterwards!

    Bookworms

     
    This storytime program is on Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. and is designed for preschoolers (ages 3-5) and their caregiver.
     
    Listen to stories, sing songs, play games, improve early literacy skills, and participate in art activities! Bookworms will last 45-60 minutes.

    Build & Bark

     
    This monthly program is designed to help children gain confidence as they read aloud to trained therapy dogs! There is no registration required. You’ll simply sign your child up for a time slot when you arrive. Then, as you wait your turn, your child will be able to build LEGOs (and their imagination!).
     
    Build & Bark will last 1 hour. Check our calendar for specific dates!
     
    Build & Bark is over for the summer! We will resume in September.
